The Surkh Vel
Handcrafted in Jaipur · Est. 1897Surkh Vel is a choker; long navette-shaped kundan centrepiece in white kundan with red and green accents and a red centre, on ruby-red bead strands with a fringe of red and green oval beads. Kundan is set the old way — each stone bedded into pure gold foil by hand, so the light comes from underneath rather than off the surface.
Every Riwaayat piece is made in 925 sterling silver and finished with 22K gold plating, then given an anti-tarnish e-coating so the colour holds through a season of wear.
Gemstone Wisdom
Green fluorite is prized for clarity of thought. Traditionally it is the stone kept close during study and long work, said to clear confusion the way water clears silt.
