The Vanavasi Earring
Handcrafted in Jaipur · Est. 1897"From The Vrindavan Edit. A standalone earring in 925 sterling silver, two-tone plated. The body of the earring is a 3D peacock in gold repoussé — the bird coiled, its body fully sculpted in the round with incised scale detail across the entire surface, its head raised and alert. At the centre of the peacock's body, a lab-grown green round cut stone is set flush, its colour deep and saturated against the gold. Silver oxidised granules and small ball details frame the base of the bird.
Below the peacock, an open scrollwork cascade unfurls: intertwined spirals of oxidised silver wire and gold wire in an organic, flowing arabesque — the peacock's tail given its full extension in abstract, open form. The scrollwork is light and architectural at once, the two-tone wires moving together without touching. In Indian iconographic tradition, the peacock is the embodiment of beauty, auspicious protection, and the full presence of the gaze. The Vanavasi Earring holds all of this in a form that reveals its full complexity only when worn."
